Position Summary

The ED Paramedic functions as a member of the Emergency Department team and is participates in the care of ill and injured patients. Responsibilities include patient care, incorporating stabilization, and intervention techniques consistent with standards and protocols approved by the Medical Director. The ED Paramedic functions as part of a ED team and shares responsibility for the team's conduct. The ED Paramedic fulfills education skill requirements as established by the Halifax Medical Director, and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Current certification by the state of North Carolina as a Paramedic, Minimum of 2 years as a Paramedic
• 2 years management/leadership experience

EDUCATION:
Associate Degree or higher, graduated from an approved Paramedic program
