About Vidant Bertie Hospital
Vidant Bertie Hospital is a six-bed critical access state-of-the-art facility located in Windsor, North Carolina that provides surgical, emergency and diagnostic services, specialty clinics and primary care clinics. Our primary care physician practice operates the Vidant Family Medicine - Windsor and we have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The Emergency Medicine Physicians see approximately 30 patients per day, as well a cover the 6 inpatient beds during nights and weekends. Our medical staff includes some of the finest primary care, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in the region.
Position Summary
Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. Use professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's baseline needs and response to care. Provide education related to chronic disease processes in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinic, inpatient units, skilled nursing facility, patient homes, schools, physician offices, and community events. Delegate tasks and supervises the activities of unlicensed care providers. Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care including equipment and material resources. Leads/guides licensed practical nurses, nurse aides and ancillary associates in the delivery of patient care. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Minimum Requirements
Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
1 to 3 years experience
RN licensure in the state of North Carolina or temporary North Carolina licensure or meet requirements to hold RN licensure in a compact state
Current Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
