Position Summary
Utilizing business and industry expertise, accepts responsibility for all activities in the Reimbursement department including: budgeting, monitoring and reporting of contractual allowances of all payors and the allowance for doubtful accounts and charity; participates in forecasting and pro forma development. Directs preparation of all external cost reports, state surveys; interfaces with external and third party auditors; prepares and defends reimbursement-related appeals; maintains quality of work and creates value through knowledge and experience with governmental regulations and processes; and performs analysis of proposed and enacted legislation detailing the impact to the organization. *Adheres to service and workforce excellence by maintaining knowledge of third party regulations for all payors, including governmental and commercial payors. *Utilizes technical and functional knowledge to enhance strategic as well as financial needs of the health system. *Plans and organizes activities for personnel for month end close. *Supervises and trains staff to improve system reimbursement
