We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary

  • Provides care to trauma patients/families through nursing interventions.
  • Coordinates outpatient care with the Trauma team.
  • Demonstrates effective patient assessment skills through the ability to prioritize and utilize appropriate resources.
  • Utilizes case management system to guide interventions and evaluate care.
  • Participates in financial management of the Trauma Service.
  • Participates in educational development and research projects.
  • Demonstrates appropriate, caring behavior in the workplace - treating patients and families with respect and dignity and offering support.
  • Keeps Trauma Program Manager aware of potential risk management or patient satisfaction issues.
  • Participates on departmental and hospital committees and projects.
  • Participates in quality management of the Trauma Service.

Minimum Requirements

  • ADN Required
  • Current NC Nursing License Required
  • 3 to 4 years experience in surgical/trauma, emergency and/or critical care setting required.

Preferred Requirements

  • BSN Preferred
  • TNCC Preferred
