We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary

Designs, implements and operates information systems for the entry, reporting and archival of the following services: Surgical Pathology, Cytology, Electron Microscopy and the hospital autopsy service. This includes transcription, coding and billing procedures. Supervises transcriptionists and medical laboratory assistants. Supervises and maintains anatomic pathology medical records and supports the medical staff to include residents in all aspects of Pathology.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate or higher degree required
  • 4 years of Transcription experience is required
  • Excellent medical terminology knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel are required
  • Experience in Anatomic Pathology is preferred
  • Experience with Pathology Billing and Coding is preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Experience with EPIC Beaker a plus

Other Information

  • Full time with benefits
  • Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • Occasional weekends/holidays may be necessary
