Vidant Medical Center is a 900+ bed Level-1 Trauma Center, regional referral hospital and is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health. We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary

  • Assists the Director of Uninsured Programs in planning, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of HealthAssist, Access to Care Network and operations of networks located ln the Access East/Vldant Health service area.
  • Responsible for directing and overseeing operations and various programs, which will include working closely with HealthAssist, Hertford Health Maintenance Alliance and Edgecombe County Rural Health Network to establish a coordinated system of health care access for low income uninsured residing in Beaufort, Pitt, Greene, Martin, Hertford, Gates and Edgecombe County.
  • Primary duties involve program development and management, grant writing, financial management, marketing, community relations and oversight of departmental activities. Works in collaboration with the Vidant Health Grant office to seek and apply for funding to grow services. This is a grant-funded position, renewable annually.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in health, leadership, strategic/organizational development, or business related field required, Master's preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a hospital/health system, FQHC, community engagement or public health or healthcare/non-profit management. Grant management or grant writing experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Meticulous grammar; editing, writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions independently with a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Experienced leader managing teams preferred.
