Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, formerly Heritage Hospital, is a full-service, 117-bed acute care facility where residents of Tarboro, Edgecombe county and surrounding communities receive a wide range of health services close to home. Our partnership with Vidant Health enhances our wide range of services and improves the quality of care our patients receive. More than 20 specialties are represented by Vidant Edgecombe Hospital's medical staff, assuring the people of Edgecombe county that almost all their health needs can be met right here at home. In addition to acute care, our services include rehabilitation, oncology and outpatient clinics.

 

Position Summary

As the Patient Access Respresentative (PAR) for Physical Therapy, you will be responsible for creating the first impression of the organization's services to patients and families and other external customers. Essential duties may include performing all pre-arrival duties related to the pre-registration and financial clearance process for both outpatient and inpatient services. The PAR is responsible for collecting proper demographic and financial data to insure hospital bill is paid by a third party payer or the patient, in addition to verifying insurance eligibility, referral coordination, and securing authorization. You will be acting as the primary liaison for patients receiving professional and hospital services at Vidant Health.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent (GED) is required
  • 2 to 4 years of Registration, Scheduling and Insurance Authorization experience within a healthcare setting is required
  • 5 years of customer service experience is required
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills required
  • Proficient computer skills; Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel)

 

Preferred

  • Associate Degree: preferred
  • Bachelors Degree: preferred
  • Experience with EPIC and medical office workflows
  • Insurance Verification Experience

Other Information

  • Full-Time (40 hours a week)
  • Monday - Friday (9 am - 5:30 pm)
  • Must be flexible in working other hours/shifts
