Position Summary

The Lead Medical Staff Support Specialist ensures regulatory compliance and credentialing/privileging for the hospital’s medical and allied health staffs and works in conjunction with the quality outcomes coordinator. Monitors flow of information from the medical staff committees through the Medical Executive Committee and the Hospital Board. Responsible for the organizational functions of the medical and allied staffs, including meeting preparation, minutes, and follow through on committee recommendations. Coordinates the accreditation survey preparation for the medical staff/leadership function. Works closely with medical staff leaders, the hospital president, the UHS legal counsel and the UHS centralized verifications office with regard to medical and allied staff issues. The Medical Staff Coordinator works with the quality department assisting with coordination of quality projects, gathering of data, data entry to required agencies, development of presentation for medical staff meetings, board meetings. The Medical Staff Coordinator reports to the Director of Quality; as well as the Hospital President and Chief of Staff regarding medical staff issues. This person also acts in the stead of the department Director for regulatory survey preparation and support for survey interviews.

Minimum Requirements

High School or Equivalent (GED) or higher
Five to seven years related experience

Other Information

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, position requiring flexibility to meet the needs of the medical staff activities. • This position is eligible for full-time team member benefits.
