Vidant Medical Center is the only rehabilitation center in eastern NC with specialty units for Stroke Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Brain Injury, Neuro and Spinal Cord Injury. Vidant Medical Center also has 6 CARF accredited programs. Programs and equipment include Lokomat, ZeroG Harness, Bioness, and Biodex.
Speech therapist is responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic speech and language development program and services. He/she also examines, tests, diagnoses and administers treatments for patients with speech and language disorders, hearing disorders and/or motor disorders. Speech therapist shall be responsible for observing and evaluating diagnostic and treatment effects and communicating results with the appropriate medical and health care staff.
Minimum of Masters of Science or a Masters of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university. All course work for ASHA certification in Speech Language Pathology must be complete. Must have a North Carolina license in Speech-Language Pathology or be eligible for same. A certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology awarded by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider status is required upon hire.
One year of experience preferred.
