Under the general direction of the Interpreter Services Director, the ASL Coordinator provides accurate and professional Sign language interpretation to Vidant Health patients, families and team members in a wide variety of healthcare settings in person, via telephone, and video. This position also has coordinator responsibilities, which include connecting patients, families, and team members with the appropriate resources for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and providing education about how to access these. In addition, the ASL Coordinator will assist the Language Access Department with daily operations such as scheduling, vendor management, reporting, record keeping, and device management. Some travel is required. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
