Pharmacists at Vidant Medical Center are committed to the safe and effective use of medications through maximizing drug distribution and optimizing drug therapy outcomes; educating patients, providers, and ourselves on best practices; and fully integrating pharmacists into the continuum of care. Pharmacists report directly to a designated Pharmacy Supervisor based on area of practice.
This position will focus on Emergency Medicine Practice with unit based emergency department care and engagement in an emergency department culture call back program.
The pharmacist will also precept and work with PGY1 Pharmacy Residents and PGY2 Pharmacy Residents in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care and Infectious Disease.
College degree plus other schooling. B.S. or PharmD in pharmacy is required.
Must be Licensed in North Carolina prior to start date or within 30 days of hire.
Hospital experience is preferred.
Maintains active NC pharmacy license and provides proof of renewal prior to December 31 annually.
BLS is required within 30 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
PGY2 Training in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care or equivalent experience.
