Position Summary

Professional Development Associate supports the work of nursing professional development practitioners and contributes to the overall functioning of a continuing education/professional development department with the goal of advancing the mission of Vidant Health.

Responsibilities

Administrative Support to Director and Manager:

  • Assists with necessary functions as requested by Director and Manager
  • Coordinates travel and expense reporting
  • Consistently scans the environment for trends and issues that will promote continuous improvement to achieve quality, experience, and finance outcomes

Administrative Support to Professional Development Specialist Team:

  • Assists with coordination of onboarding management, role development and training and simulation activities
  • Coordinates time and attendance, travel and expense reporting

Support Approved Provider Unit's continuing education activities:

  • Engages in continuing nursing education programs' redesign and development
  • Assists with planning, coordinating and evaluating educational activities
  • Adheres to the American Nurses Credentialing Center's accreditation and regulatory standards
  • Assists stakeholders in identifying and securing appropriate and available resources for leading continuing education activities

Program Coordinator:

  • Identifies resources needed for educational programs
  • Monitors resource allocation and utilization
  • Develops innovative solutions and strategies to align with organizational and department goals
  • Maintains records to comply with ANCC standards

Learning Management System:

  • Focus on providing quality in the accreditation documentation for the provision of continuing education credits
  • Coordinates continuing education program enrollment and completion documentation

Minimum Requirements

  • BA or BS degree is required 
  • Microsoft Office Suite expert level experience in Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • 3 years to 5 years related work experience is required
