Position Summary

The Point of Care Testing Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring institutional compliance with regulations related to point of care testing, including CLIA, JCAHO and CAP regulations and standards. The Point of Care Testing Coordinator has primary responsibility for Point of Care testing performed outside the main lab.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology
  • Certification as MLS, BB, C, H or MB by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency
  • Minimum of three years of current clinical laboratory experience
  • Must have knowledge of Joint Commission, CLIA and CAP regulations
  • At least two years of experience in point of care testing and point of care data management systems/middleware strongly preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred
