Responsible for transcribing medical dictation to provide a permanent record of patient care.
Will report any problems with the workflow or mechanical equipment failure.
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Distributes courtesy copies of dictation to appropriate physician offices.
Assists with data capture on electronic media.
Performs release of information.
Works with physicians, patients and other employees when necessary.
Preps, scans and indexes medical records into the EHR.
High School or equivalent is required
Required 1 to 2 years experience as a medical transcriptionist
Prefer a 2 year degree in medical office administration or related
Background in medical terminology is required
Knowledge in EHR and software programs(Excel and Word) is required
May substitute 2 year degree for the 2 years experience.
