Under the authority and guidance of the Senior Vice President for Clinical Services, the Perioperative Administrator is responsible for the overall directing of operations to achieve the long-range and short-range goals and objectives of Perioperative Services as determined by Vidant Medical Center.
The Perioperative Services Administrator is responsible for the daily administration and leadership of the Operating Room, PACU, ASU, Sterile Processing, and Materials Management; accountable for directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of financial management, inventory management, and facility maintenance.
Plans, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates activities of nursing and ancillary personnel engaged in specific nursing/medical services, patient relations and staff; foster positive work relationships and serve as a liaison between the hospital administration, medical staff, employees and all departments; demonstrate the primary goals of efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer/patient expectations; improve clinical and financial operations.
Conducts conferences and discussions with personnel to encourage participation and formulating departmental policies, promotes initiatives to solve problems, and presents new policies and procedures.
Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred.
Licenses/Certification/Registrations: License as a Registered Nurse (RN), must maintain licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON); CNOR certificate highly desired.
Work Experience: Five (5) years of related work experience to include central sterile processing required.
Three years of recent clinical experience in a related specialty. Minimum of two years management experience, including involvement in budgetary process, personnel management, and long and short-term planning; three years nursing experience in a secondary/tertiary care setting. (Bachelor's degree and one year additional graduate education may be substituted for one year of experience, with a maximum substitution of two years)

Approximately 500 FTEs report to the Senior Administrator for Perioperative Services. Positions reporting to this position include but may not be limited to: Managers and Directors of various areas within Perioperative Services.

Electronic Health Record, Surgical Tools and Instruments.
