Primary duties will be related to community COVID initiatives both within and external of the organization. Responsible for creating the first impression of the organization's services to patients and families and other external customers.
Work in a COVID related role within the Vidant Health System, in varying settings that may include regional medical clinic settings, office environments, mobile testing sites, laboratory settings, and/or hospital settings. Support Vidant's mission to meet the needs of region wide communities in response to the COVID pandemic, related resources, testing initiatives, treatment options, and vaccination initiatives.
RN: The Staff Nurse demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care and supervise departmental partnerships to achieve positive patient outcomes. The Staff Nurse demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span, and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patien's status, and interpret the appropriate information required to identify needs of the patient relative to his or her age and condition.
LPN: Assist in providing direct quality patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the assessment of patients. Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating/revising the plan of care. Attends educational programs and staff orientation which promote and professional development.

Systematically assesses patient's status, uses nursing process to plan individualized nursing care, delivers patient care, provides patient teaching, demonstrates sound clinical judgment, communicates effectively, commitment to partnership in patient care philosophy, and maintains a clean and safe environment.
Duties may vary dependent upon related work assignment:
Assessment for COVID symptoms
Perform COVID-19 specimen collections according to established guidelines
Provide general health and safety guidance
Serve as trained medical profession for both fixed sites and mobile testing teams
Provide clinical and/or remote patient monitoring
Provide test outcome notifications
COVID remote care management
Submit referrals for additional healthcare services
COVID status documentation for patients and employers
Perform medical related procedures within the scope of nursing practice (i.e. Vaccine administration)
Monitor and provide recommendations for adverse reactions
NC driver's license if required for position job responsibilities

Associate or diploma in nursing or higher
Current North Carolina RN or LPN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state Health Care Provider is required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required:
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and weather variations
Basic computer skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrates competencies in nursing practice
Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four hour needs of patients
Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication
Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications
Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands
