Position Summary

Supports the operations of the VMC Medical Staff office.

Responsibilities

  • Develops updated by laws and medical staff policies for VMC
  • Develops and prepares reports and documents for the VH Board of Trustees for expedited provider credentialing
  • Maintains and monitors annual provider occupational health requirements and board certifications
  • Updates Cactus (provider database) with validated contact and privileging information
  • Interfaces with physicians regarding medical staff promotions, special procedure requests, maintenance of permanent credentials files, verification of current license, DEA, insurance, work history, UPIN#s
  • Primary source verification not provided by the CVO
  • Support for Credential and Medical Executive Committee
  • Physician orientation, physician troubleshooting, physician hotline triage

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Three to four years related experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's Degree or higher
