Position Summary

Under general direction, this position performs professional audits for program activities under the direct oversight of the Internal Audit Director; or perform audits of departments, boards, or across the organization as directed by the Chief Audit and Compliance Officer, Vidant Health CEO or the BOD Audit and Compliance Committee; and performs related duties as required. With minimal supervision, provides expertise to assess risk, develops plans, organizes and conducts audits to evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of internal controls, accuracy of financial records, and efficiency of business operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position requires thorough knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, working under broad guidelines and able to complete tasks with minimal assistance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Technology or related degree is required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), or other equivalent audit certification is required
  • Five (5) years or more of internal/external auditing, accounting firms, federal/state regulatory agencies, or other related organizations providing auditing experience is required.  Healthcare related audit experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools as well as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to initiate and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Leadership ability

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Healthcare, Technology or related degree is preferred
