The Vice President of Human Resources, Business Partners and Employee Relations for VH reports to the CHRO, and serves as a member of the VMC Executive leadership team. The VPHR is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for the Human Resources Business Partners, Employee Relations across the system and consultation for VMC executives. While supporting VH goals.
The Vice President of Human Resources is a member of the Vidant Health Operational Committee (VHOPS) and participates with other committees related to Vidant Community Hospitals (VCOM). Participates with other system and the Vidant Community Hospitals (VCOM) leaders in the development and implementation of system wide HR strategy and initiatives. Champions change management and acts as a visible role model to the organization on change initiatives. Visibly supports and models behavior that supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Vidant Health.
Scope: Vidant Medical Center (VMC) is a 900+ bed academic medical center that serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
VMC is a regional referral center and the flagship hospital for Vidant Health. VMC has over 700 practicing physicians on its medical staff.
VMC serves 29 counties in eastern North Carolina with a population of 1.4 million people.
On an annual basis, it serves 45,000 inpatients and over 170,000 outpatients (including 117,000 ED visits), in addition to a surgical volume of 21,000.
Total operating revenue for VMC - 1.1 Billion; net patient revenue -1 Billion. In its role as an academic medical center, VMC currently trains 2,500 students in a variety of fields including nursing and allied health.
Through its relationship with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, VMC employs and trains over 300 residents in 14 programs as well as 80 fellows in 20 programs.

Master's Degree is required.
Must possess 7-10 years of experience in human resources with experience as a generalist and in employee relations.
At least 3-5 years of leadership experience as the top HR leader in a complex health care organization. Prefer experience in an academic medical center environment.
Demonstrated experience leading organizational change involving cultural transformation.
Experience working in a matrixed organization in which influencing, collaboration and problem solving skills are required for success.
