Reporting to VPMA, the Senior Medical Director for Perioperative Services will oversee the overall operations of the perioperative environment at Vidant Medical Center.
The Sr. Medical Director will serve as the physician leader for all current and future perioperative services across the medical center including 23 main operating rooms, 29 ASU beds, 31 PACU beds, and 33 pre-op beds plus a wide range of clinical, business, and support services.
The individual in this role will be crucial to advancing the organization's goals of high reliability and clinical excellence.
The Sr. Medical Director will be the catalyst to hardwire a culture that strives for clinical excellence and will be responsible for driving and implementing data driven performance improvement changes.
This individual will also assume formal and informal system-wide responsibilities related to surgical operations leadership.
North Carolina Medical License.
Continuing Medical Education.
Board Certification in Anesthesiology or Surgery/Surgical Specialty.
Progressive leadership experience in OR administration and management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required: (i.e. supervision, computers, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to manage, teach, make independent decisions and assume responsibility.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of staff.
Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Futuristic approach to the development of programs/systems that support continuous quality improvement and Mission, Vision, and Values.
Ability to function as a leader, team member and execute the desired outcomes.
