Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager- Telecom & Collaboration, this position is responsible for the installation and troubleshooting of our cabling infrastructure. Collaborating with Telecom Engineers, as well as other IS groups, this position will install and troubleshoot any cabling infrastructure, perform basic move, adds, and changes on our telephony platform, and will do this with the highest level of customer service.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent (GED) or higher

  • Preferred College diploma in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems or other technology specialties or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Structured Cabling and basic telephony moves, adds, and changes

  • BICSI Technician certification preferred

  • Preferred experience with structured cabling, firestopping, and test equipment

  • Highly motivated and focused on timely job completion

  • Attention to detail and strict adherence to best installation practices

  • Effectively train subordinate technicians on correct installation practices

  • Properly set up and test with test equipment

  • Understand and execute proper bonding and grounding installation

  • Understand and execute proper lightning protection installation

  • Properly troubleshoot commercial analog telephone circuits

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Experience supporting customers

  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required

  • Proven advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Experience in maintaining task schedules, and meeting project deadlines required

  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
