Vidant Medical Center is a 900+ bed Level-1 Trauma Center, regional referral hospital and is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health. We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Vidant Medical Center provides acute, intermediate, rehabilitation and outpatient services to more than 1.4 million people in 29 counties. Position Summary

Prepare patient specimens as required for laboratory testing. Perform laboratory tests. Monitor test results to assure test quality and validity. Communicate results in a timely the patient. Maintain properly documented records of activities. Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Histocompatibility Tech I

  • Associate Degree Medical Laboratory Technician OR Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Science OR Bachelor's Degree in biology, chemistry or health science (must have 24 hours of science credits that include 6 hours of biology and 6 hours of chemistry- transcript would be required)
  • ASCP or ABHI or equivalent certification preferred Experience in human histocompatibility testing or flow cytometry preferred

Histocompatiblity Tech II

  • Associate Degree Medical Laboratory Technician OR Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Science OR Bachelor's Degree in biology, chemistry or health science (must have 24 hours of science credits that include 6 hours of biology and 6 hours of chemistry- transcript would be required)
  • At least one year experience in a hospital lab setting with ASCP or ABHI or equivalent certification OR 3 years experience in a hospital setting without certification required

Other Information

  • Full time with benefits
  • Monday to Friday - 7:00am to 4:00pm (rotate call)
