Position Summary

The Communications Associate Shift plays a vital role in the internal and external communications between patients, families, visitors, employees and external customers serving as an important first point of contact. They are a vital link between a caller and the person who can help. Communications Associates also handle urgent calls between members of the healthcare team in VidantHealth hospitals and the community.

The Communications Associate works in partnership with all hospital departments, ECU after hours and holiday call, and serves as the liaison to route and deliver routine and emergency communication, in the effort to provide the optimal experience in patient and family centered care.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Prior Switchboard Experience, preferred.
