Vidant Bertie Hospital is a six-bed critical access state-of-the-art facility located in Windsor, North Carolina that provides surgical, emergency and diagnostic services, specialty clinics and primary care clinics. Our primary care physician practice operates the Vidant Family Medicine - Windsor and we have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The Emergency Medicine Physicians see approximately 30 patients per day, as well a cover the 6 inpatient beds during nights and weekends. Our medical staff includes some of the finest primary care, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in the region.
The laboratory phlebotomist/clerk is responsible for providing professional and courteous service to all patients, visitors and employees of our facility. The phlebotomist/clerk performs certain clinical tasks that he/she has been approved to perform through an educational or clinical check-off by a qualified member of the staff to include specimen collection and patient education. In addition to this, the phlebotomist/clerk is responsible for all clerical duties associated with maintaining a well-organized laboratory.
High School Diploma or GED
Effective communication skillls
Computer skills to include basic data entry, word processing and excel
Two years secretarial experience in a medical facility
Training and experience in phlebotomy principles and techniques
