Vidant Chowan Hospital's partnership with Vidant Health gives our patients access to state-of-the-art services provided by an academic medical center. Our medical staff includes some of the finest primary care, pediatric, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in the region, and we have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Position Summary
The RCA II will work only under direct supervision of a NC licensed RCP. Under the Clinical Supervision of the Medical Director of Respiratory Care and the overall supervision of the Manager of Respiratory Care and Respiratory Care Supervisor the Respiratory Care Assistant II (RCA II) provides safe, expedient, cost-effective Respiratory Care services. As a member of a team of health care professionals, an RCA II evaluates, treats and manages patients of all ages with respiratory illnesses and other cardiopulmonary disorders in a wide variety of clinical settings. Respiratory Care Assistant II behave in a manner consistent with the standards and ethics of all healthcare professionals. In addition to performing respiratory care procedures, RCA's are required to document in the patient medical record factual, accurate, complete, timely, legible and legal information about the care they provide to each patient.
Minimum Requirements
Over 1 year active student in a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Active licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board upon hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS), if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 6 months of employment and maintained.
Advance Life Support Certification (ACLS), if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 12 months of Employment and maintained.
Other Information
Part time position without benefits.
Approximately 18 hours per week.
