Information Services at Vidant Health
Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the implementation, enhancement, and support of software applications following industry standards and best practice. The analyst will be required to define requirements, system design, analysis, build/configuration, testing, implementation, documentation, and support the applications that meet the specifications of a project or service request. The analyst will support growth in populatin health management needs of the organization and readiness for value based care arragements. In addition, the analyst will focus managing numerours clinical disease registries, leveraging data linking of various external data sources, rules engines, developing dashboards and associated reporting for quality and performance monitoring of multiple contracts.

All Application Analysts are required to provide all core job duties for, but not limited to, the following applications to provide comprehensive tools for end users:
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Healthcare related field or relevant work experience required
2+ years of progressive experience in IT dealing with vendor application implementations and support or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Experience in testing software application
Ability to effectively support applications
Works independently with quantifiable and qualitative results
Ability to conduct analysis, document findings, draft plans, execute, monitor and follow up
Independently motivated to seek knowledge through self-education, mentoring, etc. in areas pertaining to their current position
Recognized as a source of knowledge on primary applications both functional and technical operations
Obtains and maintains current certification from the vendor and continued education/learning to understand the functionality of applications(s) supported as applicable to the job role.
Additional Requirements
Application Analyst II-IV must have progressive experience with healthcare vendor applications, specifically in large scale EMR implementations.
Ambulatory clinical, population health management programs, patient centered care or quality improvement in a practice or hospital setting preferred for Application Analyst I & II and required for level III & IV.
Certifications:
Application Analyst I & II required to complete and maintain one primary Epic Certification (eg. EpicCare Ambulatory, Healthy Planet, or EpicCare Link). Prior approval by manager for a secondary or more focused certification is required.
Application Analyst III & IV required to complete and maintain one primary Certification directly related to the application and at least one secondary Certification, Proficiency, or a minimum of two Epic Badges. Manager approval is required for all secondary certifications, proficiencies, and badges to ensure relevancy and applicability to the role.
