Vidant Medical Center is a 900+ bed Level-1 Trauma Center, regional referral hospital and is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health. We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Vidant Medical Center provides acute, intermediate, rehabilitation and outpatient services to more than 1.4 million people in 29 counties. Position Summary

Primary duties will be related to community COVID initiatives both within and external of the organization. Responsible for creating the first impression of the organization's services to patients and families and other external customers.

Work in a COVID related role within the Vidant Health System, in varying settings that may include regional medical clinic settings, office environments, mobile testing sites, laboratory settings, and/or hospital settings. Support Vidant's mission to meet the needs of region wide communities in response to the COVID pandemic, related resources, testing initiatives, treatment options, and vaccination initiatives.

Run lab testing/stat testing, transport specimens to lab

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent (or greater) is preferred

Additional requirements listed below:

Laboratory Technician/Assistant - 1 year of formal training or 1 year of education in the Medical or Computer Science field. Bachelor's in Chemistry, Biology or other health sciences program strongly preferred.

PCR Testing experience strongly preferred

At least on year experience as Phlebotomist, Nursing Assistant,  Medical Assistant or health care environment preferred

Other Information

6 positions available (5 full time & 1 part time) Shift will be determined based on interview and availability 

  • One M-F 0700-1730 Four Ten Hour shifts
  • One M-F 1100-2130 Four Ten Hour Shifts
  • One M-F 2100-0700 Four Ten Hour Shifts
  • One Friday, Sat and Sunday 0645-1915 Three 12 hour Shifts
  • One Friday, Sat and Sunday 1845-0715 Three 12 Hour Shifts
  • One Friday, Sat and Sunday 1100-2130 Three 10 hour Shifts plus Backup Coverage
