About Vidant Duplin Hospital

Vidant Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed facility located in Kenansville, North Carolina and has 20 practicing physicians on its active medical staff. Vidant Duplin serves Duplin County and surrounding communities in Eastern North Carolina with a population of approximately 60,000 people. On an annually basis, it serves 3,800 inpatients and over 52,000 outpatients (including nearly 30,0000 ED visits), in addition to a surgical volume of 2,050.


Position Summary

  • The Employee Health Nurse is a professional nurse who is currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. Works under direct leadership of the Director of Human Resources.

  • Maintains daily log of employees reporting to Employee Health
  • Maintains monthly reports for the Safety Committee regarding accidents, injuries, and work-related illnesses
  • Responsible for immunizing all employees in accordance with CDC, ACIP, and State Guidelines
  • Acts as a consultant to the Health System and Medical Staff concerning Employee Health matters
  • Responsible for implementation of the Employee Health Program

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience

  • Possess leadership skills, clinical ability, computer knowledge, good organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
  • Knowledge in Occupational Health: this may be by virtue of one or more of the following:  education, training, experience, or certification
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
