Conducts internal auditing and monitoring of coding accuracy and documents the findings with support tied to regulatory guidance. Develops and coordinates education that will ensure success based on the individuals¿ specific needs. Maintains documentation of all audit activity and communicates findings with leadership as appropriate.
Demonstrate expertise in the use of analytical and statistical approaches, tools, specifications and techniques including understanding of how process goals are established, measured, and monitored.
At least three years of multidisciplinary physician based coding or auditing experience required
Bachelors Degree in Health Information Management or Associates Degree in Health Information Technology required
RHIA or RHIT certification required
Registered Nurse with active license in NC, and a minimum of 5 years of physician based coding and documentation audit experience plus CPC or CCS-P certification, may be substituted for the education and experience requirement
CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CEMC or CPMA in addition to the above required credential preferred
Prior experience performing physician based coding audits and providing education preferred
