Position Summary

The Paramedic functions as a member of the care team and participates in the care of ill and injured patients. Responsibilities include patient care, incorporating stabilization, and intervention techniques consistent with standards and protocols approved by the Medical Director. The Paramedic functions as part of a team and shares responsibility for the team's conduct. The Paramedic fulfills education skill requirements as established by the Medical Director, and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or equivalent.
  • Current Nurse Aide I with the North Carolina Division of Facility Services and completion of Emergency Technician (EMT) course with the current NC Certification.
  • BLS required.
  • ACLS, within 6 months of hire.
  • One year experience working with a Rescue Squad or Ambulance Service or Emergency Department is preferred.
