Information Services at Vidant Health
Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.
Position Summary
Participates in end users discussions regarding workflows associated with upcoming enhancements or system changes
Supports the evaluation, testing, and implementation of defect patches, system upgrades and releases according to the Information Services support model and change control procedures
Ability to analyze and resolve simple issues
Stays informed on current market trends and emerging technology developments that impact individual work
Recognizes sources of available information and establishes facts to recommend solutions
Adherence to change management standards and established Service Level Agreement (SLA) for incidents and requests
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication
Promotes cooperation and commitment within the team by working collaboratively with others
Communicates strengths, shares expertise and draws upon other members skills to improve team performance
Holds self personally accountable to meet or exceed team expectations
This position is required to rotate on-call responsibilities
Responsibilities
All Application Analysts are required to provide all core job duties for, but not limited to, the following applications to provide comprehensive tools for end users:
Epic Electronic Medical Record, specifically Epic Optime and Anesthesia, and associated Epic tools such as Reporting Workbench and Epic Radar Dashboards
GE CPM Operating system
GE Compurecord Anesthesia system
Integrated third party applications -Tissue Tracking, Divinci -Robotix, SPM, Centrak RTLS, Realview, Patient Notification Systems, and any others added during employment period for the OR team.
Integrated content from IMO, Elsevier CPM, and Krames Staywell
Integrated technology - OR anesthesia carts, RTLS devices, Capsule middlewear for Anesthesia
Minimum Requirements
Associate degree or equivalent work, training and experience required
Ability to provide value-added support to one or more applications
Independently motivated to seek knowledge through self-education, mentoring, etc. in areas pertaining to their current position.
Obtains and maintains current certification from the vendor and continued education/learning to understand the functionality of applications(s) supported as applicable to the job role
Application Analyst II-IV must have progressive experience with healthcare vendor applications, specifically in large-scale EMR implementations in the acute care setting
Operating room experience preferred for Application Analyst I & II and required for level III & IV
Certifications:
Application Analyst I & II required to complete and maintain one primary Epic Certification (eg. Epic OpTime or Anesthesia Certification). Prior approval by manager for a secondary or more focused certification is required.
Application Analyst III & IV required to complete and maintain one primary Certification directly related to the application and at least one secondary Certification, Proficiency, or a minimum of two Epic Badges. Manager approval is required for all secondary certifications, proficiencies, and badges to ensure relevancy and applicability to the role.
For individuals clinically trained
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of clinical scope of practice and workflows for roles within clinical setting
Ability to communicate clinical concepts to technical team
Understands application and clinical workflow
Preferred Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred
Training in system analysis preferred
Experience as analyst implementing and testing vendor packaged software applications preferred
Experience in health care setting preferred
