Position Summary
The Manager, Enterprise Data Governance will lead and manage all organization-wide data governance activities and will have responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets. The Manager will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to a data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs.
The Manager, Enterprise Data Governance reports to the Director, Enterprise Data and Analytics and oversees, manages and coordinates all functions related to the enterprise data governance program including: Vision and Strategy, Data Architecture, Data Management Processes, Data Quality, Cultural and Behavior Change, and Program Measurement and Monitoring. The Manager ensures that Vidant's data are organized, defined, managed and of sufficient quality to support Vidant Health's objectives for reporting, analyzing and developing insights from its information assets. These insights form the basis for a data-driven approach to improving performance and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and services as well as developing new insights to inform forward-looking strategies that support the organizations vision and mission.
The Manager, Enterprise Data Governance serves as the primary liaison for aligning the business units and technology teams to coordinate governance of information assets. The Manager has primary responsibility for the implementing the program roadmap, progress reporting, escalating issues and ensuring Vidant's strategic and operational objectives are supported with high quality data. Due to the cross-functional nature of this role, it is important that this leader establish key relationships and strong partnerships across the organization and with external partners.
The Manager, Enterprise Data Governance serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the organization.
