The Patient Account Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently handling all electronic and paper payments and for ensuring that all payments received are posted to the appropriate account and deposited in a timely manner for all Vidant Hospitals and Vidant Surgicenter. The Patient Account Specialist also handles the bank deposits for Vidant Health Management, AccessEast, Vidant Health Foundation, Children's Miracle Network, University Health Systems and East Carolina Health. This position is responsible for general ledger keying, research, and processing non-voucher related adjustments. The Patient Account Specialist will utilize existing technologies to the fullest to ensure revenue optimization and operations are efficient (e.g., 835 remittances and lockbox technology).
High School degree plus 2 years or more education in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Management and Technology preferred
