Position Summary
The Lead Lab Tech is a member of the hospital management staff. The Lead Lab Tech functions as a leader assisting the Laboratory Manager in coordination of activities to bring about change in the pursuit of improved operations. The Lead Lab Tech must develop and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with all hospital departments, employees and medical staff. The Lead Lab Tech reports to the Laboratory Manager.
Minimum Requirements
The employee must have graduated from an accredited medical laboratory technician or technology program. Successful completion of MT ASCP, MLT ASCP or HEW examination with a minimum of four 4 years of clinical laboratory experience in the following disciplines Hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank, serology, chemistry, special chemistry, microbiology and phlebotomy. Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred but not required.
