Position Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician participates in collection, decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, wrapping, scanning, sterilizing, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instruments within the guidelines of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation. Works collaboratively with all departments to ensure efficient, safe and effective instrument reprocessing. Models excellence in customer service, ensuring the highest standards for both internal and external customers.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of Sterile Processing experience preferred.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) certification as Technician, Surgical Instrument Specialist, Ambulatory Service Technician or Management is required to be obtained within two years from date of hire.
