Position Summary

  • The Surgical Technologist responds to patients' needs that range from basic life support to varied surgical interventions.
  • Care is provided to patients of all ages, from neonates to the elderly.
  • Call rotation is required.
  • The role of the Surgical Technologist requires collaboration with OR Manager, OR staff, physicians, and ancillary staff.
  • He/she performs assigned duties in the care of the surical patient, assists with surgical procedure, and helps in the maintenance of the surgery suite.
  • All work is performed under the direction of a Registered Nurse in accordance with the mission statement, policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives of the hospital, nursing service, and the department.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Formal instruction for surgical technology in a technical or vocational institution.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Preferred Requirements

  • Surgical Technician Certification

Other Information

  • 24 hour/week position.
  • Rotating 7a-7p and 7p-7a.
