Information Services at Vidant Health
Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.
The Manager of Clinical Specialty Applications provides day-to-day management of application support for Vidant Health's EPIC Optime, Anesthesia, ASAP (ED), as well as other ancillary systems as defined. In collaboration with team and Vidant IS management, provides direction for supporting and constantly improving the production application. This position requires the ability to oversee the controls and processes in place to provide a highly available and reliable system, as well as constantly improving operational capabilities.
The Manager of Clinical Specialty Applications implements solutions incorporating an exceptional level of communication and organizational skills among IS technical and application staff. This position requires the ability to understand the needs and expectations of the application user community. This position requires an understanding of Vidant Health and Vidant operating unit strategic goals, as well as the ability to work with subject matter experts to plan and execute business initiatives in alignment with those goals. This position requires a person who can work within an integrated group, and can manage and mentor personnel with diverse backgrounds and knowledge. The manager must be detail, action, solution and results oriented and must demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in managing the production environment.
Master's/Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, computer technology, information management or related field strongly desired.
Minimum seven (7) years in healthcare environment and three (3) years in an IS leadership/management role with a strong operational background and proven track record of accomplishments in Information Services within a large, complex, multi-location organization.
Demonstrated track record implementing and successfully managing a mission critical IS production environment with multiple stakeholders in a multi-entity, geographically diverse organization.
Seasoned professional with at least three (3) years subject matter experience in clinical operations as well as a deep understanding of current business issues and trends influencing health care providers.
Epic vendor experience strongly preferred.
