Position Summary
Only Level 1 Trauma Center for Eastern North Carolina
23 OR Suites – Main Operating Room
6 OR Suites – East Carolina Heart Institute (ECHI)
The Operating Room provides elective, emergent and trauma services for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and adult population. The specialty area services are provided for Cardiac, General, Vascular, Thoracic, Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat), Oral, Pediatrics, Plastics, and Transplantations. The Operating Room also offers laser procedures, minimally invasive procedures and robotics.

Shift rotation & call
The OR staffs 24 hours per day 7 days a week including holidays
Specialty areas such as Orthopedics and Neurosurgery will be assigned at the completion of orientation. Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic services require at least 1 to 2 years of experience in the Operating Room.
An on call (OC) Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Charge Nurse of the shift.
Minimum Requirements
Associate Degree or Diploma is required.
Bachelors Degree is preferred.
0 - 2 years experience is required.
Current NC RN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state Health Care Provider is required.
Basic Life Support is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required: (i.e. supervision, computers, etc.)
Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients.
Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships.
Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands.
Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications.

$10,000.00 Bonus (No-Contract) & Relocation Assistance approved.

$5.00 - Night shift (7pm-7am)
$5.00 - Weekend Day
