AHOSKIE-Vidant Endocrinology – Ahoskie, located at 226 South Academy Street, opened on Aug. 29.

The practice provides comprehensive health care for patients ages 10 and up including preventive care and wellness screenings, urgent and acute walk-in care, chronic disease management, senior health and women’s health.

Dr. Anjana Harnoor, an endocrinologist, will be seeing patients at the new facility. She is a graduate of St. John’s Medical College in India. Dr. Harnoor most recently completed an endocrinology and diabetes fellowship with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and brings six years of clinical experience to eastern North Carolina. She has also had several years of experience working at Kaiser Permanente in California.

Dr. Harnoor is experienced in the management of diabetes. She is also trained and skilled at caring for patients with thyroid disorders including thyroid cancer, metabolic bone diseases including Osteoporosis, lipid disorders, adrenal and pituitary diseases.

"I am extremely excited to be a part of the health care team in Ahoskie and provide Endocrinology services to the patients in the area,” Harnoor said. “I understand the need in the area and am happy to be able to be of service to them. I look forward to a unique, lasting and fulfilling relationship with the patients."

The practice will serve Ahoskie and surrounding areas and will be open every other Monday from 9:00 - 4:00 p.m.
