The DAISY award celebrates nurses who exceed their duties to give patients and families and exceptional experience. Recipients are chosen from the heartwarming stories shared by patients, families, fellow nurses, physicians and other staff.

Patient and Family Experience

Patients and families have perspectives that are as valuable to a patient’s care as the clinical team’s training and experience. Vidant Health has embraced patient- and family-centered care and made a commitment to include patients and families in key decisions affecting not only an individual’s care but also policies, procedures, training and the entire culture of the health care system.

Working for Vidant Health means being part of a reputable, well-established system of care—but one that’s growing fast.

While other health care systems are facing challenges, we’re expanding. Like our new 78,000-square-foot children’s hospital at Vidant Medical Center. Or the $200 million cancer center that’s slated to open in 2017 and position Vidant Health as the hub of cancer care in eastern North Carolina.   And that's just the beginning.
