Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed, not-for-profit hospital located in Ahoskie, NC. The 15-bed ER serves approximately 21,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns. This modern facility provides a wide range of health services to its 39,000 residents in the four-county area.

Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC.   • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age and abilities of the Vidant member or guest.
  • Provides accurate and appropriate member and guest information related to services and programs of Vidant obtaining proper documentation and signatures as needed.
  • Participates in life-support activities as required, responds to emergency situations and emergency practice drills throughout Vidant.
  • Incorporates department protocol driven policies and procedures appropriately to direct Vidant services.
  • Uses universal precautions appropriately and performs proper hand washing techniques.  Strictly follows all policies and procedures related to proper infection control practices of the KidZone.
  • Maintains confidentiality of member and guest information.
  • Uses department scripts to effectively communicate with other departments, members, guests and coworkers and students in person or over the phone.
  • Demonstrates safe operation of all equipment in compliance with departmental policy, safety, disinfection, infection control and quality control standards.
  • Uses “Red Rules” and safety behaviors to provide safe member service.
  • Demonstrates effective computer skills necessary to carry out the duties of the job.
  • Participates in Inservice Education, updates, and staff meetings to remain current with Vidant and RCH activities and information.
  • With the highest quality customer service, provides services associated with the service desk related to  member and guest greeting, check-in process, registration for programs/services/events and point of sale of food/ beverage and proshop items.
  • Accurately documents all data related to member, scheduling, Point of Sale information, cash transactions, product inventory and membership account information using the Member Management System (CSI).
  • With the highest quality customer service, provide safe childcare of KidZone participants in accordance with policies and procedures related to the control, monitoring, risk management, cleanliness and safety of the KidZone area, equipment and supplies.
  • With the highest quality customer service, facilitate and/or deliver age specific activities, programs and events as required and/or assigned by the Member Services Coordinator.  Participate in quality improvement assessments and implement efforts to continually improve member satisfaction.  

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Education.
  • Positive interpersonal communication skills verbally and by phone.
  • Basic skills to utilize office equipment (phones, fax, computers, copy machine, etc.).
  • Current BLS, if not current, must complete within first six months of employment and maintain 

Other Information

  • This position is prn (on an as needed basis) 0-19 hours per week.
  • Wellness Center hours between 6am-11:00 pm.  Includes all shifts, days, nights, weekends, holidays
  • Pay range $7.80-$12.48 per hour.  Actual rate depends on experience.
  • Resume needed.
