Position Summary

The VAD coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of inpatient and outpatient care for patients with a ventricular assist device (VAD). Coordination includes but is not limited to patient education, staff education, community education, surgical coordination, clinic visits, and record keeping. He/she will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of all aspects of care for patients with a VAD in collaboration with the Advanced Heart Failure Team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university required.
  • Current RN licensure in the State of NC required.
  • Will consider allied health degrees such as Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Perfusionist with four years of experience in cardiovascular nursing, cardiac surgical nursing, critical care nursing, cardiac transplantation, and/or care of patients with ventricular assist devices.
  • Minimum of four years experience in cardiovascular nursing, cardiac surgical nursing, critical care nursing, cardiac transplantation, and/or care of patients with ventricular assist devices. Prefer candidate with previous VAD Coordinator experience.
