About Vidant Duplin Hospital

Vidant Duplin Hospital is a 81-bed, not-for-profit hospital, located in Kenansville, North Carolina. The newly renovated, 15-bed ER serves approximately 22,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns.

Responsibilities

  • The Unit Secretary is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance of the clerical duties of the patient care unit.  As a member of a team of healthcare professionals, the unit secretary functions as a focal communication source in the nursing station, interacting with culturally diverse patients and visitors across the lifespan, all members of the interprofessional healthcare team, and community contacts. 

  • Assist staff and healthcare team to ensure optimal care and to provide and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.

  • Communicates to a licensed nurse any changes in patients' status or any significant changes found when obtaining data.

  • Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

  • Supports the organizations' vision and mission.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus additional years of formal training or education required.

  • Current CPR Americal Heart Assosication.

  • The NA I must be a graduate of an approved course of study for the NA I Program and have a current listing with NC Division of Facility Services as a NA I in the State of N.C.
