Vidant Chowan Hospital is a modern 25 bed critical access facility located in historic Edenton, North Carolina, and provides services and programs to 45,000 people in 4 counties. Vidant Chowan Hospital's partnership with Vidant Health gives our patients access to state-of-the-art services provided by an academic medical center. Our medical staff includes some of the finest primary care, pediatric, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in the region, and we have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.


  • The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer provides quality and proficient services as requested by Medical Staff, pursuant to the hospital objectives and policies. The sonographer must perform general and vascular types of ultrasound procedures (general, vascular & echocardiogram experience preferred). The technologist must be registered or registry eligible by ARDMS.  The Ultrasound technologist is expected to pull call for VCHO and VBER for ultrasound procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science in Sonography. 

  • ARDMS Registered in Radiology and ARDCS preferred upon hire or if new graduate must be registered within 18 months.

  • Full time position with benefits.

  • Some call.  Some weekends and holidays.
