Position Summary

The Radiologic Tech-Ultrasound demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age, disease process and cultural/spiritual needs of the patient in a variety of clinical settings.?? The Radiologic Tech-Ultrasound is responsible for the operation of the Ultrasound imaging equipment and for performing examinations.

Responsibilities

Assess the appropriateness of care by acquiring and evaluating clinical data and assessing the overall status of the patient based on the age of the patient.

Assess current medical status of patient to evaluate changes that require immediate medical intervention. Knows whom to call and what information to give and initiates proper Code Blue when indicated.

Understand and abide by departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Obtains radiology order prior to procedure, ensures appropriate clinical information is present on order and that appropriate exam is ordered in accordance to patient needs.

Document all pertinent information as pertains to patients past and current Medical History. Documentation of supplies in Healthspan and of?? patient?? information in PACS?? as needed.

Demonstrate acceptable level of performance when selecting proper equipment, transducers, biopsy attachments, software programs and other diagnostic tools.

Demonstrate cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.

Review images to ensure that required information has been collected and is of the highest quality.

Maintain daily written logs/records as indicated.

Charge for procedures, and patient supplies while maintaining operating expenses.

Maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Minimum Requirements

ARDMS certification obtained within 12 months from hire date or registry eligibility status.

Ultrsound experience required.

American Heart Association issued CPR Healthcare Provider Certification.?? If not current at time of hire, must complete within first 6 months of employment and maintain.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Other Information

This position is non-benefit PRN (on an as needed basis).  Must be able to work all shifts, including nights and weekends.
