About Vidant Medical Center

Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.


  • As the liaison for regional pre-hospital and referral partners, coordinates and directs performance and quality improvement initiatives between  regional providers and Level 1 Trauma Center.
  • Assesses the need and develops a plan for public and professional trauma related education and outreach throughout our referral area.
  • Participates with local and regional agencies, organizations and health care providers in improving the regional trauma care system.
  • Develops, coordinates and/or participates in the planning of trauma related educational events, lectures, conferences and nationally recognized trauma course offerings.
  • Coordinates in-hospital educational programs essential to maintaining verification as a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Minimum Position Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing, education, health care administration or other health related field strongly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience as a clinician in trauma unit (ED, ICU, critical care transport program).
  • Experience with curriculum development and teaching.
  • Experience with performance improvement and quality data analysis.
  • Previous or current experience as pre-hospital provider strongly desired.
  • Strong verbal and written skills required.
  • Current TNCC provider, provider/instructor status desired.

Other information

  • Work schedule will be day shift  with occasional evening; weekend with local travel.
  • Position is salaried. Offer amount would be anticipated based on years of related experience.
