Position Summary

  • Facilitates and coordinates best practice standards for Living Donor and Transplant patients throughout the continuum of care
  • Coordinates living donor evaluation/ recipient evaluation and patient education
  • Participates in Research/Quality Improvement and patient safety initiatives for the living donor and transplant population
  • Ensures compliance with living donation/transplantation and Transplant improvement activities as required by CMS and JCAHO accreditation
  • Coordinates collaborative working relationships
  • Ensures compliance with documentation required by regulatory agencies
  • Provides educational in-services to the general public, patients, and healthcare professionals, in the community

Minimum Requirements

  • BSN preferred; ADN with a minimum of two years of medical/surgical experience
  • Current valid NC Nursing License required.
  • Knowledge of clinical databases an asset.
  • More than 2 years but less than 3 years previous experience in a health care setting is necessary. Work experience should come from Inpatient hospital experience with the ESRD and Transplant and living donor population/patient. Position also requires organized planning, strong communication skills, knowledge of the research process, and the ability to facilitate multidisciplinary groups. Knowledge of clinical databases is needed.
  • Completion of Clinical Transplant Coordinator Certification within 30 months of employment in transplant
  • Deviations from this requirement will be at the discretion of transplant administration on an individual basis
