Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.


  • Develops and maintains a trusted strategic business partnership with hiring managers.

  • Uses contemporary recruitment strategies to conduct full life cycle recruitment, including position posting; candidate sourcing, screening and interviewing; referring qualified candidates to hiring managers; facilitating departmental interview processes; serves as advisor and negotiator during offer process; communicating with active and non-selected candidates.

  • Diplomatically ensures that hiring managers and candidates develop realistic expectations for job function, job performance, workplace culture and commitment in order to promote retention of newly-hired employees.

  • Uses appropriate strategies to network, identify and build relationships with potential candidates and candidate-referral sources in order to develop a pipeline of qualified candidates, particularly for mission-critical or high-demand positions.

  • Maintains up-to-date understanding of employment law and Vidant Health policies related to recruitment and employment activities.

  • Ensures that employment processes are conducted and documented in a compliant manner.

  • Advises hiring managers and appropriately seeks additional guidance as needed.

  • Documents activities and prepares reports as requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 year college degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Engineering, Nursing or other related field

    • Five years of human resources experience in recruiting or HR generalist role will also be accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Minimum of one year of experience.

  • Have proven experience in recruitment of technically-minded candidates (Information Services, Finance, Engineering, etc.)
