Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the management of key Information Services projects throughout the entire project life cycle.  You will be part of the Information Systems Project Management Office (PMO) and will manage multiple moderate to high complexity projects using Vidant Health's project management framework.  Must have proven experience managing complex technical infrastructure projects related to data centers, new construction and moves, end user hardware/software, telecommunications, networking, and security.   


  • Manages technical infrastructure projects (e.g., data center relocation, technical infrastructure related to new construction, moves, and remodeled spaces, telecom, networking, end user hardware/software, security) including related application configuration requirements

  • Establishes and executes project plans for successful project delivery

  • Effectively manages project risks and issues

  • Communicates ideas, risks, issues, and status in a clear and concise manner; Adjusts presentation style to suit the intended audience

  • Manages project budgets

  • Defines resource needs, negotiates for appropriate resources, and manages resource plans in the ServiceNow PPM tool

  • Mentors and coaches resources as necessary in the areas of project leadership

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field; equivalent experience considered

  • PMP certification preferred

  • 8 to 10 years project management experience required

  • Proven experience leading complex Technical Infrastructure projects

  • Expertise with project management tools (MS Project, Visio, Excel, etc.)

  • Experience with ServiceNow Project Portfolio Management a plus

  • Experience with SharePoint a plus

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of resource management and change management techniques

  • Must be solution oriented and collaborative and have the ability to motivate project teams to deliver results that add value to the organization's goals

  • Must have an adaptive project management and communication approach that aligns with the needs of the project and project team

  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies and adapt to changes and demands of the organization

  • Must be an effective problem solver, strategic thinker, and self-motivated

  • Experience in SDLC (Waterfall), Iterative Methodologies required

  • Experience in Agile / SCRUM / SAFe a plus
