Vidant Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed facility located in Kenansville, North Carolina and has 20 practicing physicians on its active medical staff. Vidant Duplin serves Duplin County and surrounding communities in Eastern North Carolina with a population of approximately 60,000 people. On an annually basis, it serves 3,800 inpatients and over 52,000 outpatients (including nearly 30,0000 ED visits), in addition to a surgical volume of 2,050.

Position Summary

  • Under the clinical supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technician provides technical support for peri- and intraoperative care for surgical patients across the lifespan that is safe, cost-effective, and exemplary of health care quality standards.

  • As a member of a team of health care professionals, the Surgical Technician assists in the preparations for a variety of surgical procedures, performs assigned tasks during surgical procedures, and engages in support functions to facilitate the timely completion of scheduled cases.

  • Surgical Technicians behave in a manner consistent with the standards and ethics of all health care professionals, and, as directed, document in the electronic health record factual, accurate, complete, timely, legal information about the tasks they perform for each patient.  

Minimum Requirements

  • Successful completion of approved Surgical Technology program.
  • Current American Heart BLS certification at time of hire and maintained during employment.
  • High School or GED
